Shift is a seven-member team of Philadelphia-based contemporary artists who work with digital video to question and expand notions of the thirty-year-old medium. The collective espouses the low-tech aspects of what is essentially a high-tech arena and is interested in a temporal de- and re- construction of narrative that offers a process of becoming in place of being. Shift was founded in 2007 and its members have shown collaboratively or individually in Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Newcastle UK, Paris, Arles France, and Ile De La Reunion.
